Archiving Quote Files

Workflow

How To

This work-flow describes the process of archiving and restoring quote files.

 

To prepare for archiving quote files, we will set the archive path. Then we can send files to the archive, view the files in the archive and retrieve files from the archive.

PREPARATION

Do this ...

Set the Archive Path

Go to the Admin > Path screen
Browse to the desired location for the Archive
Dismiss the Path screen

 

Note: The archive path cannot be the same as the quote path. If it is, the archiving function is turned off.

ARCHIVING FILES

Do this ...

Select one or more quote files to archive

Go to the Quote > Open screen
Select one or more files. The files must be in a single group.

Quote - Open

Send the files to the archive

Click the right-mouse button on one of the files
Select the menu item "Send to Archive"

 

VIEWING the ARCHIVE

Do this ...

MoreInfo 16x16

Switch to the archive view

Go to the Quote > Open screen
Pull down the Directory view selector in the upper left corner
Select Archive

 

Notes:

1.While in the archive view, archived quote files can be opened for review, printing and even editing.
2.After leaving the Quote > Open screen, the view will return to the Quotes view the next time the screen is opened.

RESTORING FILES

Do this ...

MoreInfo 16x16

Switch to the archive view

Go to the Quote > Open screen
Pull down the Directory view selector in the upper left corner
Select Archive

Quote - Open

Select one or more archive files to restore

Select one or more files. The files must be in a single group.

Send the files to the active quotes

Click the right-mouse button on one of the files
Select the menu item "Send to Quotes"
