ValidateThe Validate button confirms that the manhole relationship meets the minimum requirements to successfully create a structure on the Quote screen.

Validation panel

In the validation operation, the interface dimensions of mating parts (SizeUp versus SizeDn) are compared to confirm a match.

When the assembly has been validated, the users can work with confidence knowing that the selections they pick for preparing an estimate will indeed stack.

To validate the currently selected assembly (Specification, Type, and Size), click the Validate button.

Validate only tests the preferred (top) component for all active Assembly Positions.

To test optional components for a position, select the position and drag each component to the top of the list then Validate.

If the stack is valid, the data in the Display Panel and the background of the active position labels will turn green and the side view of the shortest structure will be displayed.

If the stack does not validate, the data in the Display Panel will turn yellow and the label background of the position in question will turn red.

Validation will be unsuccessful when an active assembly position has no components in its component list, or an assigned component does not exist (in Stocks), or there may be a stacking size mismatch.

The data in the Display Panel shows the current Component size and the last (next lower) Component size.

Adding or Correcting Stock

If an assembly does not validate, check both the Current and Last Positions to confirm that a component has been assigned in the Component field.

A component with a matching size may not exist, or either component may have incorrect size information.

Note the SizeDn on the current position and the SizeUp on the last position, then go to the Stock screen and provide a component with the proper size.
