While standard design principles call for pipes to enter a structure at a perpendicular angle, it is sometimes necessary to enter a structure at angles other than 90° to the wall of the structure.

The maximum deflection angle determines if the pipe can physically be placed through the hole cutout. This is only a geometric check and does not indicate that a quality installation seal can be obtained.

The data needed to calculate the Maximum Deflection Angle are:

  1. Wall Thickness of the structure
  2. Outside Diameter of the pipe
  3. Diameter of the hole cutout (always larger than the pipe OD.)

Enter the data into the calculator and click the "Calculate" button.
